FIRST SUNDAY OF NOVEMBER
PRAYING FOR OUR COMMUNITIES
Power Up Sunday is a nation-wide movement of churches going out into their local communities and praying over schools, neighborhoods, government offices, first responders, non-profits, businesses, and other churches.
This is the perfect opportunity for your church to deploy your small groups and let them lead the charge of praying blessings over your local area!
Don’t have a small groups ministry at your church? We’d love to help you start one through our free coaching program! Or you can simply recruit volunteers from your church to lead a prayer group at each location.
What does Power Up Sunday look like? 👀
Power Up Sunday is a “boots on the ground” kind of activity, where church members travel to different buildings and locations in their local area to pray for the people who live/work/learn/play in that space.
However, Power Up Sunday may look different at each church. We encourage you to schedule this event in whatever way works best for your congregation.
Consider these ideas:
-
Deploy your prayer groups after your morning worship gathering
-
Have groups meet for prayer in the morning, then gather at the building for a later service.
-
Host a fellowship meal with catering or boxed lunches to boost camaraderie amongst your prayer groups.
There are no set rules on HOW you do it, as long as you’re getting out there and praying together!
